On one of our UK jaunts, we dined at Cliveden, a National Trust property which is also a wonderful hotel. They have recently undergone extensive renovations and the result is truly marvellous.
Always up for trying a new cocktail, we were intrigued by their signature champagne cocktail, the Cliveden ’66, shown on the left. They were kind enough to give us the recipe
- • 40 ml each vodka and Grand Marnier
- • 20 ml rose liqueur
- • gold leaf (?!) - optional
- • champagne
- Mix the vodka, Grand Marnier and rose liqueur in a small pitcher. Divide equally between four champagne glasses. Add a little gold leaf (if using) and top with champagne.
We are happy to report it arrived safely and the Cliveden ’66 cocktail was the star feature of a garden party we gave for our honorary daughter Shannon (in the polka dotted dress) and her fiancé (now husband), Matt to celebrate their upcoming nuptials. Shannon’s real Mum is on the right.
