Happy New Year, dear readers! I hope 2018 is filled with Joy, Prosperity and Good Health for everyone.
As many of us do at the end of the year, I’ve been reflecting, and it occurred to me what a strange and multifaceted activity blogging is – everything from seeking inspiration (which for me involves long walks to consolidate ideas and receive flashes of insight), scouring the internet, opening and unpacking boxes (and disposing of all that cardboard…), washing tableware, choosing and arranging flowers, gathering groceries and cooking food, setting tables, photographing, photographing, photographing, mastering software to process pictures and run the blog site, and organizing and storing tableware. It’s quite astonishing how many different steps and kinds of activities are involved. I love some aspects more than others, but the most satisfying part is hearing from you, my readers, on what you’ve liked, the experiences you’ve had, your own collections, joys, frustrations, questions and comments. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey! It’s lovely to have such interested and involved fellow travellers.
Choosing a favourite table for each month of 2017 was a very pleasurable activity. I had a bit of trouble deciding on which to include; I was heavily influenced by the ones that you seemed to like the most, though there was a plethora in October. Perhaps the fall is when we all settle back to think about tablescapes, nest for the winter, and prepare for Thanksgiving and the Christmas season? Anyway, here we go, one for each month. I’ve added a link to the post beneath each picture.

Thanks again for all your support and interest. Have a lovely week!
I’m sharing this post with Between Naps on the Porch.
Not sure which my favourite is but being partial to my birth month and Cobalt blue, I’ll pick the Minton blue cats. I like the idea of a hydrangeas on each napkin. Have a happy and healthy 2018. We’re now enjoying the warm weather in Costa Rica. Bye for now
Ooooh! Costa Rica -have a splendid time! I’ve always wanted to go. One day!
I have another of the cat plates waiting for me in the UK to be picked up when we go in March. The vendor won’t ship other than in England, so into the suitcase it will go. 🙂
Enjoy the rest if your trip, and all the best to both of you

Hi Josi,
So great to hear from you! I’m very glad you’re enjoying the blogs. I want to do more of the travel ones this coming year – I have hundreds of photos of places we’ve visited, and blogging on those is like reliving the trip. I know your particular interest is travel, so stay tuned!
All the best to you and the family for a healthy and Happy New Year.
Best,
Helen
Wow, Helen, Great year in review. So fun seeing again these great tables. Lots of inspiration. Happy New Year. Lorri
Happy New Year to you, too, Lorri!
I really enjoyed going back over the tables and seeing them again. I forget, once they’re photographed and posted, and I rarely take the time to revisit, so it was a great exercise in savouring.
Have a great rest of the week. Stay warm!
Happy New Year! I only discovered your blog a few months back, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Your sensibility is very similar to mine, and I adore the variety of dishes that you showcase. What an enviable collection! I tend to look and rarely comment, but wanted to thank you for sharing. I intend to visit you regularly this year for more inspiration!
Happy New Year to you, too, Cheryl!
Thank you so much for joining in; I’m so glad you’re enjoying the blog. Tableware is a bit of a peculiar hobby, and I’m always glad to meet people who like playing with it as much as I do.
Here’s to a lot more fun in the coming months!
Oh, this is a delightful taste of what you’ve posted this year. I can see I have much to read as a new one to your blog.
Hi Sarah! Welcome to the blog 🙂 I look forward to hearing from you as you work your way though the posts. Happy New Year!
