The Glass Onion is one of our favourite restaurants on the Cape. They don’t accept reservations, Update 2020: Recently, they’ve started taking reservations; we often sit on the screened-in porch and enjoy a liquid refreshment while waiting for our table. This is no particular hardship, as their cocktail & wine list is as excellent as their food. Their Black Walnut Manhattan caught my husband’s eye, and he is pleased to report that it is as delicious as it sounds with mellow walnut overtones enhancing the rich bourbon flavour.

They were kind enough to share the recipe. We’ve worked out the rough proportions, but feel free to experiment with the quantities as you see fit. Mix in a shaker with ice until well chilled and serve it straight up.
