There is an imperceptible shift in the summer psyche as we enter August in Cape  Cod. The heat continues unabated, while Black-Eyed Susans form a rich contrast to blue hydrangeas in the gardens and sunflowers appear in the grocery stores and fruit stands.

Adam and I had settled on Pork Chops with Peaches for supper and Raspberry Galette for dessert. Now it was time to select the tableware. Vintage Buttercup by Spode picked up all the glorious golden tones of the peaches and naturally, we had to have sunflowers!

The amber glasses are from Williams Sonoma a number of years ago. The amber stem with etched, clear bowls are Morgantown Amber Etch Depression glasses from Replacements Ltd.

The white rattan placements and napkins are from Pier One. The taupe under plates and the little wheelbarrow open salts came from Pottery Barn a number of years ago and the lanterns are part of their current collection.
