Not to be confused with plain old Harvest by Johnson Brothers, Harvest Time is a multicoloured transfer ware pattern with an apple theme. Right on the money at this time of year, don’t you think?

I was very taken by the soft peachy tones of the apples and the clear, vivid green accents on the leaves.

That gave me a great place to start in terms of choosing tableware accoutrements.

To pick up the green, I put together vases of  Granny Smith apples and nuts (from nuts.com, no less – what can’t you get online these days??), and added the green ombre lanterns from Pier 1 (already reasonably priced, I managed to snag those during one of their sales).

Pink jacquard napkins from the spring season from Sur la Table …

… and June Pink by Fostoria from Replacements picked up the soft pink tones.  I use these glasses a lot – they seem to go with so many tables.

The burlap runner is a Save on Crafts find. They only had shorter ones when I bought mine, so I have two joined together. I see they now have 120″ ones for the princely sum of $4.99. So useful for fall and even Christmas tables.

The Sawyer flatware and the Geometric Wood napkin rings are both from World Market, this season. The whitewashed rattan placemats are from Pier 1, several seasons ago.

The ombre aspect of the lanterns is much more evident at night.

I did this table in the late summer, just before we returned to Canada. The weather was still warm, and it was no hardship hanging around outside with a glass of wine, waiting for it to get dark enough to shoot the table. It’ll be a different matter when we return to the Cape in the next couple of weeks. It’s getting dark much earlier now!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had our family Thanksgiving this past Sunday, so I’ll post some pictures of that table in the next little while. It was the usual madhouse, and judging from the very lively conversation and hearty consumption, everyone seemed to enjoy the traditional turkey meal. The day before, I prepared a carrot cake and a pumpkin pie for dessert, both of which seem to actually improve overnight; it sure takes the pressure off on the the day of the meal itself. What is it about turkey dinners that seem to involve so many moving parts?

I’m sharing this post with Between Naps on the Porch.
