How fun is this? Full Bloom by Pier 1 includes a set of four multicoloured appetizer plates, reminiscent of English Chintz patterns.
The more I look at them, the more I like them. What a fun table to set.
I was able to pick up some primula from Trader Joe’s; the fleshy green leaves and vibrant colours of the flowers suited the plates perfectly.
Each plate is different – not only the body of the plate, but the flowers it features. The vibrant goldish-orange with spiral stemmed flowers and blue whirly-gig thingies …
The aqua blue with its 1960s style mod daisies…
The tomato-red with its stylized flowers…
And my favourite, the beautiful green, complete with lady bugs and carrots!
Which lead, of course, to me unearthing the carrot salt & pepper shakers from Pier 1 last year.
How cool is that? Enough to inspire one to start seedings on the window ledge.
I didn’t care for the dinner and salad plates that come with the set, so I styled the plates with vintage plates, using green as the coordinating colour. Both the dinner and salad plates are Wedgwood and were eBay finds. The salad plate is Barlaston Green.
And the dinner plate is Colonial Williamsburg shell-edged.
Pier 1 came to the fore with both the gingham-style napkin
and the watering can napkin ring.
The water glasses are actually iced tea glasse in Colonial Dame by Fostoria, (also vintage and from eBay). They’re readily available at Replacements, too.
The runner is the Vine Floral Boutis from Williams Sonoma, which comes in several colours. Neutral pewter Danieli flatware from World Market worked well, I thought.
The plate colours are an interesting combination. They’re not exactly primary colours, but complement each other nonetheless.
Which one is your favourite?
I have to stick with green being mine, I think. It’s the carrots, for sure.
And the lady bugs. Oh – and I see tomatoes in there, too. And bees.

At this moment, I’m partial to the aqua which reminds me of the color of the water that I was swimming in last week. Warm memories on this frigid day. But, they are all very pretty!

I’m very fond of the Colonial Dame, too, Myrna. The green is so clear and vibrant – they go with a lot of table settings. The napkin rings were last minute. They were niggling away at the back of my mind as I’d observed them in the store, but had not acted upon them. Once I set the table, though, they leaped forward again and my husband was kind enough to pick them up when he was out and about. Thanks for visiting!
I like the vegetables–the green plate. Maybe it is just the photos but those napkins look so nice and crisp and those watering cans are so fun. Great table.

The napkins are quite crisp, but I suspect will be of a softer hand after a couple of washings. The weave is quite loose. They’ve got a slight beige stripe to them too, along with several shades of green. Have a good day!
These plates are adorable! I love Chintzware and these contemporary plates definitely are reminiscent of the old patterns. Your tablescape with the primroses looks lovely with the plates.
