After spending a day at the beach revelling in bright sunshine and baking heat, why not continue to enjoy the seashore tableside?

Please join us. We have lots of things to play with, including a bucket and spade.

Some sand moulds and a beach chair for someone to lounge on.

So cheerful!

Beach Stripes from 222 Fifth is a fairly recent pattern, produced between 2008 and 2013. I went with the four generously sized salad plates. The beach chair plate, in particular, appealed to me. I love the old-fashioned wooden-framed, canvas-slung chairs, though they weigh a ton and are awkward to lug to the beach.

The ballpark-mustard-yellow napkins got another workout. Their vibrant hue goes with so few tablescapes, for obvious reasons, so I’m always pleased when they get an outing.

A mixture of rattan & raffia balls from HomeGoods worked very well for a colourful centrepiece.

Flipflops we have aplenty at our Cape house, but I sprang for a new pair to make a debut at the table.

The little anchors on the soles of the flip flops are so cute!

The seeded aqua glasses are a long-held item, purchased from Nautique on Main Street in Brewster when we first moved in.

Sawyer flatware and rattan napkin rings from World Market were suitably casual. The dinner plate is Queen Anne Pillivuyt from Williams Sonoma years ago, and I believe they still carry it.  Yup – just checked. I always have to double check the spelling of “Pillivuyt”; it is definitely not intuitive.

The blue starfish salt and pepper were a gift from friends many Christmases ago. Thank you Paul & Chris!

It’s going to be another scorcher today, and I’ll be glad to come back to a quiet dinner on the patio,

I hope everyone has a wonderful Independence Day tomorrow. Safe travels to any of you wending your way to out of town celebrations. This evening, no doubt we will be trying to contain the hysteria of Taylor, one of our Golden Retrievers, who is scared to death of fireworks. It’s a week-long display down here, much to the delight of all the children and the dismay of the dogs.

I’m sharing this post with Between Naps on the Porch.
