This week over at Between Naps on the Porch, Susan is celebrating her 500th Metamorphosis Monday and has asked contributors to submit their favourite five metamorphoses. I’m not much of a transformer and mostly post tablescapes, recipes or travel blogs, but searching the annals of Entertablement, I came up with these:
The Playhouse Under the Stairs, which was a several weeks long project last December to transform our basement cupboard under the stairs into a playroom for our five granddaughters.
An ongoing project is the storage and organization of my tableware collection, and it’s a question about which I get asked quite frequently. Here I’ve given a summary in the post Where Does She Store All That Stuff?
While on the organization topic, The Cupboard Under the Sink comes to mind. I reorganized things there a couple of years ago, swapping out a hinged door garbage receptacle for some sliding pull out containers and it’s been stellar.
One big transformation was the whole build up to the Highclere contest with the series of blogs: Come and Dine at Highclere, Update on Preparations 1 and Update on Preparations 2, The Dinner, The Video and the Winner.
Lastly, I’m reminded of how much life belowstairs and behind the scenes has changed as we navigate our home care. A Servant’s Life at The Elms, Newport, Rhode Island highlights how “the other half” lived at the turn of the last century.
Many thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this wonderful Blog Party.
