We have a new addition to the family.
He’s been here a couple of weeks,
He’s very, very curious.
He was sooooo small when he arrived; he was just eight weeks old.
But he’s sure coming into his own!
We named him Dundee. Of course!
He sleeps a lot!
And when he’s awake, he attacks anything that moves. Hands are especially popular.
I think we’ll keep him. 🙂
There has been a certain amount of hissing from the other two cats, but Dundee is not fazed. He yawns.
He’s pretty sure of his welcome.
He’s eating as much as the big cats, if not more.
What do you think? A keeper?
Tigger would be very proud of his successor. The house isn’t complete without a marmalade cat.
And we’ve got one again. A 2.5-pound bundle of energy, claws, sharp teeth and a purr like a motorboat. He melts my heart.
I’m sharing this post with Between Naps on the Porch.
He looks adorable. Looking forward to meeting him today. I’m sure he is very purrdy! Even though he’s a boy.
He’s currently “helping” me sort photos. Can’t wait to see you!
So cute and a beautiful color. Congratulations
Thank you! We couldn’t be more thrilled.
Oh, that face. Definitely adorable.
Thanks, Lorri! It’s amazing how something so small can make such a big difference.
He is precious! Definitely a keeper. Plus, you have already fallen in love!
Oh my, yes!
Definitely a keeper! ❤
Uh huh!
I thinks hes an adorable KEEPER.
Hehe. We think so, too!
He’s a ginger marmalade terror-in-the-making, The name Immediately bought to mind Bonnie Dundee!

Hope he lives up to his name as a Jacobite rabble-rouser…
There is little doubt of that! Between naps he’s quite the rogue.
I love orange tabbies, or as they say
In UK, Gingers.
His is truly a Keeper. Adorable!
Thanks, Patricia. We haven’t had a kitten for many years, and it’s a real treat to see his antics. Ginger cats are so special!
Everyone should have an orange kitty. They make life so special.
Just last week I discovered a six week old (estimate) buff colored kitten, barely old enough to be weaned, hiding in my garage, all alone. I fed and watered him for 2 days, waiting for a mother cat to come around that did not come. I then trapped him and gave him to a friend of mine who fosters for a local Rescue. She put him with other similar aged foster kittens in her home and says he seems happy to have a “family.” Once he’s fully weaned, has all his shots, is socialized (he’s feral) and is neutered, he will be up for adoption to some lucky person. I wanted to keep him but I have a rescue dog who barely tolerates cats – and this little guy was too tiny to expose to a grumpy dog. I know the Rescue will find him a home.
Thank goodness you intervened with that poor scrap of a kitten. One of our cats began life as a feral and the distrust and wariness run very deep. What a fabulous solution to get him a feline foster mother. Brilliant. I’m sure he’ll go on to live a happy and full life thanks to your help and Rescue’s.
Dear Ms. Kain,
Definitely a keeper. He looks as though he made his way out of the marmalade pot and then stopped just long enough on the tea table to dip his chin in the clotted cream. May you enjoy many happy years with Dundee.
Regards,
Elizabeth Speicher
Thank you! He’s a monkey, and you’ve described him perfectly. We love him to bits already.
I always enjoyed glimpses of Tigger in your posts, because I have a soft spot for orange kitties as well. I’m so glad your lovely tablescapes will continue to be “assisted” by this new tiny ball of love! Looking forward to watching him grow….
Thanks, Cheryl. He’s too little to do much heavy lifting so far, but I anticipate he will be assisting in no time.
He’s a keeper and soon to be the love of your lives. . If only they stayed tiny.
It’s much like Cirque du soleil here as four run through the house playing cowgirls and Indians.
You have four, Myrna? Must b a riot to watch them play. 🙂
We are trying to savour every minute of Dundee’s tinyness. It goes so fast! Our other two are still at the staring and hissing stage with him, but I know it’s only a matter of time before they join in the fun with his antics. They’re very much on their offended dignity right now, though.
Congratulations on your new addition! He is adorable and I am certain he will help to fill the void of losing Tigger. What a cutie!
Thanks Darlene. He’s getting bigger by the day and has even started peering around thr corner of the dining room, just like Tigger!
