Un-bear-ably cute. Doris and Edward Bair are the stars in a series of video adverts from Heathrow Airport. They’re along the same lines as the famous Budweiser Clydesdale ads shown at the Superbowl (especially the ones with the labrador puppy — melt my heart). Check out this year’s production. :
If that has you groping for a tissue (sniff, sniff) you’ll want to see 2016 and 2017, too.
The Brits seem to do these animated Christmas videos really well. One of their major department stores, John Lewis (akin to Nordstrom or Bloomingdale’s) produced one featuring a penguin that I’ve always loved:
This year’s John Lewis video features Sir Elton John. Wonderful, but the penguin is my favourite.
I hope everyone had a marvellous Thanksgiving and are now recovered from the glorious excesses. While it’s time to move into full holiday preparation mode, a little pause to watch some heartwarming videos seemed in order.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Dear Helen, You are right; the Brits do these adverts so well. The penguin was my instant fave when it made its debut. I had forgotten how many crazy looks Elton has had. He reportedly got a goldmine of £5 MM for his ad; Paul Young, however, got the shaft. Here we always have an outdoor tree, only partly because of the fans, so that gave me a chuckle. Onward to Puppy Bowl!
Like you, I’d completely forgotten Elton’s wilder looks – that pink hair! I’d read about his outsized payment for the advert, too. Well, more power to him. Hope you’re enjoying the warm weather. An outdoor tree sounds very sensible. It would just look out of place inside, no?
Love them all. Love when the penguin’s eyes pop wide open when surprised! Very cute. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and your animal farm. See you after New year’s.
It’s hard to pick a favourite, isn’t it? Among the bears, I think mine is the first one. Love to both of you!
Now that I am all teary. Thanks for sharing these.
They make me all sniffly, too!
