Just before Christmas I was excited to receive an email from Juliska announcing that their Graham Green goblets (say that three times fast) were back in stock and on sale at a significant discount, as the pattern was being retired.  I had coveted this particular pattern since stumbling upon it in a little shop in Charleston several years ago, and was pleased to get an opportunity to acquire it at a good price.

I love the subtle tint of the glass, and the combination of textures with the swirled pattern at the bottom and the hammered effect of the upper part of the goblets.  The water glasses are a coordinating pattern, Isabella.

Armed with my new loot, I invited friends to dinner and started planning both menu and table setting.  It seemed appropriate to pair the Juliska goblets with a combination of their Country Estate and Pewter dinnerware.  The combination was fresh and inviting – just what the doctor ordered on a cold January evening.

We started with Sweet Pea Soup with Early Chives, followed by a salad of arugula, toasted pecans, Stilton cheese and cranberries with a fresh lemon vinaigrette.  The main course comprised rack of lamb, roasted fingerling potatoes and steamed green beans.  We finished up with lime sorbet and fresh raspberries in Brandy Snap Baskets.

I’m sharing this post with Between Naps on the Porch.
