“You scream, I scream, We all scream, for Ice Cream.”
Except at an ice cream social. Screaming would be rude. Ice cream, though – that we must have!
Let’s gather some of our favourite flavours. How about Peanut Butter Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip and Pralines & Cream? Yummie!
Next, let’s add some fun toppings.
Parfait glasses are a must.
And some fun plates from Pier 1
On the porch, everybody! Let’s go.
May I have the yellow glass, please?
Who wants Peanut Butter Chocolate?
And who wants Pralines & Cream?
And who wants all three flavours?
Oooooh!
Go ahead, girls, before your sundaes start to melt.
Mmmmmmmm…
Can we do this again soon?
You bet! Summer has just begun!

So cute. The tablesetting and the guests.
Thanks, Cindy. The little ones had a great time!
Your grandchildren look like they’re in heaven! Mine would be, for sure. Very tempting even though I haven’t even had lunch yet. Looks like you’ve opened up a real ice cream parlor with all the proper parfait glasses. Etc. Very sweet in every way
I’ve never seen ice cream get hoovered back so quickly. And silently – all concentration was on the consumption. They’re quite a pair!
Dear Helen,
This week we finally have at least spring, if not summer…I am jealous of your grandkids, who look like they are certainly ready for ice-cream season.
Similar napkins are available at Pier 1, although the checks are larger. The PB cos are blocked in Europe because they have been unable to get their act together to comply with the 2018 privacy laws. We are celebrating the arrival of Wayfair.de, but as all goods seem to come from the UK, that will all end with Brexit. Sigh.
Growing up, we lived in a place where the lolly-truck never ventured, so we had to learn to make our own with a White Mountain machine (ice, salt, mess). My standards are white chocolate-raspberry swirl; darkest smooth 85% Swiss chocolate; fresh Spanish peach (now on offer!); and cherry with blackcurrent and kirschwasser (fruit from our neighbor’s garden–she puts up huge amounts each year). Your lucky family will always remember your evocative settings and the start of summer!
I do love homemade ice cream. It’s much easier these days with the electric machines rather than the hand crank models with the messy ice, though the noise reminds me of a rock-polishing machine I kept running for the requisite 30 days as a child. The noise is quite disconcerting! When I make ice cream I leave the machine in the basement to do its thing. It’s great to get our favourite custom flavours, though! Cherry, black currant and kirschwasser sound divine. I love all those black fruit flavours. Yummmmmmmy.
Yes, the Pottery Barn/Williams Sonoma ban in Europe is quite interesting. You can’t even get on the sites, as I noticed when trying to do up some blogs whilst in England.
Enjoy the lovely weather. Still chilly, but promising.
