Yes? Oh, the china! The dessert plates and tea set are Gien’s Ouiseau Bleu Fruit. The dinner plate is Jewel by Spode. The teacups are Wedgwood Cream-on-Cream shell-edged creamware. Yes, a combination of modern and vintage.

We sure enjoyed this beautiful dessert which must have taken hours to make for Billy Boy! And berry dessert plates to top it off aside from the ice cream. No calories here?? Delish!
What a nice diversion from the gardening. Closeups! We need closeups! The fruit on the plates looks almost 3D, and now I know what to do with my collection of pearl buttons. I think home-made vanilla ice cream is the litmus test–.the simplest flavour–but sometimes I add some drops of violet essence (Foodie Flavours from England) for its curious and wonderful perfume. Unfortunately we lost the cherry crop this year, but this place is beginning to erase the strain of the past months.

Much to my pleasant surprise, I found Trader Joe’s French Vanilla Ice Cream to be top-notch. We really enjoyed it with the cherry pie. I’m busily making pastry in anticipation of a few more pies! I like to have some on hand in the freezer – rolling it out is no big deal once the messy measuring and whirling are done.

Dear Helen, Thanks for the close-ups… the pattern is really pretty and a cinch to style. I love making ice cream–my basic Cuisinart makes it easy and fast with a freezer bowl and a strap-on motor. 20 minutes and it’s done. I use local cream, fruit, and eggs. We will be decompressing from the US for the next weeks. Setting summer tables filled with flowers. Got tested here–results in 30 hours, negative. May you and yours stay well and safe.
Oh, now we have 2 more cars here…Porsche and Audi came with us. Give me strength. lol
