Brunch is a wonderful meal—especially a getting-close-to-Easter brunch with chickens and rabbits from Pistoulet by Pfalzgraff.
The pattern is based on the book “The Secrets of Pistoulet” by Jana Kolpen and evokes the colours of Southern France.
The dinner plates come with a salmon pink or blue border, green rims and blue polka dots. The salad plates are either green or yellow, with contrasting edging. But the appetizer plates are where the real fun begins. The owl…
And a chicken.
Then we have two plates which coordinate with some delightful serving pieces. The rabbit…
And the rooster.
Now, I can take or leave Deviled Eggs, though when I do actually have them, I always wonder why I don’t make them more often. But I defy anyone to reject a deviled egg on such a platter, with the resident nesting rooster, a biological impossibility. The zaniness underlies the whole dinnerware set. It’s just pure fun.
I couldn’t resist making some Cinnamon Buns for brunch, as well.
I’ve had the set for years and remember being pleasantly surprised by the price point. The small tureen you can see way off in the distance on the right is one of my favourite pieces of the set. It’s a lovely small size with its own ladle and underplate.
There is also a small tureen in blue.
I really like the handled soup cups — perfect for a thick soup, stew or chili.
You’ve seen Pistoulet before on this table when I used the soup bowls with some Bordallo Pinheiro salad plates and yellow Martillo dinner plates from Pier 1
We are all set for a light brunch with Deviled Eggs, Cinnamon Buns and a light salad (not shown). Yum!
Have a great Sunday, all!
