When I began photographing my first book, Entertablement—The Four Seasons, I had no idea it would lead to a second, Entertablement—Much Depends on Dinner, and now, a third volume, Entertablement—Twelve Months at the Table.
Each book has reflected an exploration of the beauty, history, and rhythm of entertaining. The Four Seasons celebrated the visual artistry of the table — the play of light, china, and flowers across the year. Much Depends on Dinner looked behind the curtain, tracing how food, domestic life, and social change shaped the way we cook and gather. And this newest book, Twelve Months at the Table, brings those threads together — a full year’s worth of tablescapes, menus, and inspirations that celebrate the joy of gathering through the seasons.
After months of styling, photographing, editing, formatting, and occasionally swearing muttering at my computer, Entertablement—Twelve Months at the Table is finally here.
This book has been a labour of love. Twenty-five tablescapes complete with menus and over seventy-five recipes.
From the frost-touched calm of January suppers to the golden warmth of autumn dinners, each chapter reflects the flow of the seasons — the subtle shifts in light, flowers, and fabric that make entertaining such a reflection of life itself.
I’m enormously grateful to everyone who has followed along on this journey — from the readers and recipe testers who cheered through the first book, to those who wrote asking, “When’s the next one coming out?” Well, here it is!
The hardcover and Kindle editions are now live on Amazon, and I couldn’t be more delighted (or relieved) to share them with you. And because, dear readers, you have been such a source of encouragement, I’ll be celebrating next week with a little thank-you — a giveaway! Stay tuned…

Congratulations Helen!! I can’t wait to get my hands on (literally) your glorious new book. Well done! Hugs galore, Patti
Thanks, Patti! Can’t wait to show it to you.
Congratulations. I cannot wait to add this to my collection
Truly a work of art !!!
Thanks, Jen! I so much appreciate it.
I love it. I have read it from front to back and it’s an amazing feat of accomplishment in every way. You’ve given so many people inspiration on entertaining. Thank you.
Thanks, Maura! Glad you enjoyed it. I had a ball doing the tablesettings and the cooking. The technical aspects were really challenging as all the programs have evolved a lot since 2020. And continue to do so!
Really appreciate your support and interest! It means a lot.
Dear Helen, I’m so looking forward to seeing the pictures and even just reading the recipes. You really know how to inspire a girl!
Thank you so much, Beatrice.
Kindle Direct Publishing print-on-demand has come a long way. Getting the actual Kindle version up was a learning curve in itself. Then the hardcover was another feat of endurance, but worth it. The quality of photo heavy books has improved exponentially.
I love the creative part. The technological? Not so much…
I hope you enjoy whichever version you settle on.
Cheers,
Helen
