These easy homemade apple chips are naturally sweet, wonderfully crisp and easy to make.

How to Use Homemade Apple Chips

While they’re delicious as a snack, homemade apple chips really shine as a pantry staple. Add them to cheese boards, tuck them into lunchboxes, crumble them over oatmeal or yogurt, or use them to add sweet crunch to seasonal salads.

I especially love them in my Autumn Orchard Chicken Salad with Apple Chips, where they provide an unexpected texture that transforms the salad from familiar to unforgettable.

Apple Chips

Ingredients

  • Honeycrisp, Pink Lady or Fuji Apples

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice a firm apple (Fuji or Honeycrisp work well) with a mandoline or sharp knife.
  2. Lay the slices on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 110°C or 225°F for 1½–2 hours, turning once halfway through, until crisp and golden. Let cool completely — they’ll continue to crisp as they cool.

Notes

Don’t hesitate to make extra apple chips. They take very little effort and keep beautifully in an airtight jar. I tucked my leftovers into a flip-top Mason jar and discovered them months later—still crisp and ready to add a sweet, crunchy touch to salads.
